Fun-Filled April

April has been packed full of travel, visits with family and friends, and formal acceptance into the Christian community. After a wonderful Easter, grandparents and close friends arrived to celebrate Ryan's Baptism at Saint Martin's Episocpal Church. As Mike pointed out, although we had seen everyone individually over the years, this group had not been together since we were married over 5 years ago! What an honor to have the people who are so special in our lives join us in celebrating the beginning of Ryan's faith journey.

The next weekend took us to Georgia to celebrate my 10 Year Reunion at Agnes Scott College. Ryan got to spend quality time with the grandparents and also see the campus. Many of my friends, some I hadn't seen in 10 years, also had little ones. Ryan seemed to enjoy the new places and meeting new friends. The juxtaposition of remembering my college years and being a new mom ironically made me appreciate both more and also highlighted the new adventures that are before Mike and I as we raise Ryan.

1st Easter

Well, we just put Ryan to bed on his first Easter. It has been a jammed packed day. We went to church and Ryan did very well, particular given that the service was twice as long as he is normally used to. He even got his first Easter Egg from the church Easter Egg (or as our rector put it, Resurrection Symbol) Hunt. Ryan got his first Easter basket and also a new Sesame Street toy. He has become very adept with his hand coordination so the new toy is putting these skills to use. Today was also the first day that he ate real food. Although I would love to have the time to make Ryan's baby food, it just isn't going to happen. So up until now, his experience with solid food has been thanks to Gerber. Today we made him a mashed up sweet potato. I'm not sure he really liked it much. His expressions were quite funny. We'll keep working on trying different textures because he is showing a great deal of interest in the foods that Mommy and Daddy eat.

This coming week will also be fun-filled. Ryan will be baptized next Sunday so all of the family is coming to town. We are very excited!!

Hi guys! This is my first blog post, and I typed the title all by myself. I used this thing called Microsoft Notepad! Anyway, Mommy and Daddy don't like it when I use this word , but the weather sure is poopie today. There's slushy stuff on the ground, I had to leave daycare early, and Mommy had to cover my stroller with plastic to keep me from getting all wet. The doggie doesn't seem to like the weather too much either: he goes out, and he then wants right back in. Anyway... Mommy, Daddy, and I are going to go play some downstairs. I'll talk with you soon!
